Announcement by BKTC Chairman on Mahashivratri:
On May 10, at 7 a.m., the gates of the youth-holy Kedarnath Dham will reopen to devotees, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) announced on the joyful day of Mahashivratri. On May 6, the Panchmukhi Doli will set out on its trip. It will pass through a number of locations before arriving at the blessed place of Kedarnath Dham on the evening of May 9.

The temple's doors closed on November 15, 2023, in preparation for the upcoming winter. Two thousand five hundred pilgrims attended the ceremony, which featured devotional music performed by the Indian Army band.

On May 6, the Panchmukhi Doli will depart, marking the beginning of the pilgrimage.
